ViCi Gaming and Aurora eliminated from PGL Wallachia Season 7
While it felt like it took forever for the first teams to be eliminated from the PGL Wallachia Season 7 group stage, the playoffs have provided a sharp contrast. Just two days into the bracket stage, two teams have already been sent home.
ViCi Gaming 1:2 HEROIC
HEROIC entered the lower bracket after a crushing loss to BetBoom Team in the upper bracket, but they woke up and ate their breakfast of champions early. The South American squad returned to the server looking far more composed and delivered an impressive showing in Game 1, executing their strategy with confidence and efficiency. HEROIC controlled the pace from start to finish and closed out the game without losing a single tower.
Game 2 began in a similar fashion, with HEROIC again jumping out to an early lead. However, a crucial slip allowed ViCi Gaming to punish them hard, turning the game around on the back of a good team fight. From there the Chinese squad seized momentum, pushing through objectives and eventually leveling the series to force a decisive third game.
Game 3 removed any doubts about HEROIC’s recovery. The team dominated the lanes early and set the tempo from the opening minutes. Rather than rushing through the game, HEROIC showed exemplary discipline, playing patiently and methodically as they tightened their grip on the map, eventually choking out ViCi Gaming to secure the series victory.
Aurora Gaming 1:2 Tundra
The lower bracket clash between Aurora Gaming and Tundra Esports carried high expectations. Both teams had fallen 2–1 in the upper bracket the day before, forcing them into an early elimination match despite being considered among the tournament’s stronger contenders. Aurora, however, have spent much of the season adapting to a rotating cast of stand-ins across different players and roles, yet the team has continued to perform with remarkable composure — the same confidence that made them one of the most consistent squads heading into Wallachia even with a stand-in. Tundra, meanwhile, entered the tournament with Parker standing in for Pure, a high-profile substitution that had already raised questions across the scene.
In Game 1, Tundra appeared to have the stronger draft, fielding a lineup that looked well-rounded across all stages of the game with few obvious weaknesses on paper. Aurora’s composition seemed weaker by comparison. However, the match quickly turned into a back-and-forth affair where Aurora consistently found the better map movements and reads, outplaying Tundra across the map. Parker and BZM struggled to make an impact, while Mikoto stepped up in a big way, finishing with an impressive 12/1/17 performance on Void Spirit.
For Game 2, the early shutdown on Ember Spirit set Aurora back immediately and made the game difficult to recover from. Tundra kept the pressure high across the map, overwhelming Aurora and creating the space Parker needed to free farm and take control of the game. With the momentum firmly on their side, Tundra closed things out convincingly to tie the series 1–1 and force a deciding Game 3.
With elimination on the line, Aurora took a different approach in the draft, opting for Monkey King in the mid lane, a pick that has not shown a strong win rate. Unfortunately, the gamble never truly paid off. 33 secured his signature Batrider, providing strong initiation and control throughout the match, while Parker’s Medusa was given the time and space to farm freely. Once Medusa reached her key items, she became impossible for Aurora to deal with. Tundra accelerated the pace of the game from there, steadily tightening their grip on the map before closing out a decisive Game 3 victory.
ViCi Gaming and Aurora exit PGL Wallachia Season 7 in 7–8th place, taking home $40,000, while HEROIC and Tundra advance deeper into the lower bracket.
