GamerLegion end Shad's trial, bringing in Ghost
GamerLegion went into the recently concluded ESL One Birmingham 2026 with a trial player but have now brought in Ghost to complete their roster.
Right before ESL One Birmingham 2026, GamerLegion completed their roster with a trial player. With Luke “Yamsun” Wang going inactive, Indji “Shad” Lub was brought in as a trial for the event. While the team did not make the playoffs, a ninth/tenth place finish was all they could muster. With that, they ended Shad’s trial and brough in a new position 1 player, as they go in search of a direct invite to the Esports World Cup 2026.
Shad out, Ghost in
GamerLegion are one of the last remaining North American organisations in Dota 2, at least for the ones making it into Tier 1 tournaments. Although the team has made it through some huge changes, and even The International 2025, they just have not been able to reach the upper echelons in their tournaments. Earlier this year, with their position 1 player going inactive, GL were in need of a new addition. While Shad was not the ideal choice, it seems, now the team have brought in Daniel Chan “Ghost” Kok Hong to complete their roster.
While having played for teams such as Xtreme Gaming and Nigma Galaxy, Ghost’s last few years have seen him more in the stand-in role than being a part of a full team. Most recently, at ESL One Birmingham 2026, he played alongside Yakult Brothers, while also winning PGL Wallachia Season 6 with MOUZ towards the end of 2025, albeit only playing the Group Stage with the team.
However, with a good amount of experience, Ghost could be just what GL are searching for to boost them in the upcoming tournaments. The full GL roster is:
- Daniel Chan “Ghost” Kok Hong
- Francis “RCY” Fundamera
- Victor “Fayde” Zuev
- Danil “Bignum” Shekhovtsov
- Paul “Speeed” Bocchicchio
In the coming weeks, GL will be fighting through qualifiers and PGL Wallachia Season 8, so we will soon get to see if Ghost can bring the team some brilliance. With the new patch still shaping the meta, GL could be the final direct invite for EWC 2026 if they can make some big plays in the future.
