GamerLegion go in search of glory as they bring in Shad for ESL One Birmingham 2026

After dropping a player from their roster early in March, GamerLegion bring in Indji "Shad" Lub to complete their roster for ESL One Birmingham 2026.

As one of the last standing North American Dota 2 organisations, GamerLegion are hopefuls in many tournaments. Having entered the game late in 2025, the team has been challenged to keep up with other Tier 1 teams but have not completely hit their stride. With that, in early March of this year, they made a change, moving their position 1 player, Luke “Yamsun” Wang to inactive. As ESL One Birmingham 2026 approaches, the team has now confirmed their new addition that will take them through the event.

Shad returns to the Dota 2 frontlines

With Yamsun on the sidelines, the carry position opened for GL as they looked to finally get themselves into a high tournament placement at the upcoming ESL One Birmingham 2026. On March 17th, the team confirmed their new addition, announcing via X that Indji “Shad” Lub would be coming on board for the event as a trial.

With that, the team’s roster is complete and as follows:

  • Indji “Shad” Lub
  • Francis “RCY” Fundemera
  • Victor “Fayde” Zuev
  • Danil “Bignum” Shekhovtsov
  • Paul “Speeed” Bocchicchio

Shad is most well-known for his time with OG in 2025, before the organisation took their roster to Southeast Asia. With a few Tier 3 tournament wins during this time, Shad has not had a whole lot of Tier 1 experience over the years. However, if ESL One Birmingham 2026 goes to plan, the player could find himself in the hotseat for GL permanently.

As the event approaches, GL will be hoping to finally find their form and put themselves on the radar for tournaments such as Esports World Cup 2026 and The International 2026. While the team take a measly 512 EPT Points into the event, they will need to work even harder to secure a decent finish. And, with a new squad member, the team will be hoping to instantly click.
