Dota 2 Patch 7.41a lands, bringing nerfs and buffs all round
ESL One Birmingham 2026 has seen another patch drop during its duration, as 7.41a graces us with nerfs to many of the heroes we have seen recently.
Nothing goes hand-in-hand with an ESL One Dota 2 event like a major patch, and 7.41 gave us exactly that just a few days ago as the Group Stage of Birmingham 2026 was drawing to a close. However, what’s better than one patch? Two patches, of course, as 7.41a has now dropped, with some big heroes which have been seen on the opening two days of the playoffs being nerfed.
Patch 7.41a: The nerfs and the buffs
In the midst of ESL One Birmingham 2026’s Group Stage, we got Patch 7.41. Quickly, the meta began to shift, as players found comfort in a few new heroes such as Alchemist, Lifestealer, and Leshrac. However, during the Playoffs Stage, Patch 7.41a has landed, ready to shake things up with some major nerfs to these heroes and buffs to a few others. Only one item was nerfed, with Consecrated Wraps getting major reductions on its Magic Resist, movement speed, and barrier numbers.

Lifestealer
Lifestealer saw a big increase in winrate following the Patch 7.41 release just a few days ago. Patch 7.41a hits the hero with probably the biggest nerf, as he loses out on base damage, as well as hits to most of his kit. One of the affected spells is Feast, which drops the scaling Max HP gained per a kill and evens it out at a flat 10 across all levels of the skill.

Alchemist
Although not a major nerf, Alchemist is possibly going back into hiding after Patch 7.41a. With a decrease on his Bonus Damage from Aghanim’s Scepter, his Max Bonus Gold per kill on Greevil’s Greed, and his base movement speed, there could be some reluctance to pick the hero anymore.

Doom
Doom saw a rather intense 5% nerf to the Curse Damage of his Innate, Lvl ? Pain passive, while also losing out on his Base Armour.

Wraith King
Possibly one of the more interesting nerfs came to Wraith King, as he sees his Base Attack Time (BAT) lowered, along with a few other nerfs to his abilities, Intelligence gain, and talents.

Windranger
Not every hero was hit with a meaningful nerf in Patch 7.41a, with some getting a pleasant buff. Windranger is one of these, as she gets a strong buff to her Base Agility and Focus Fire’s earlier levels.

Tiny
The not-so-Tiny-anymore hero got a great buff in the new patch, with both Grow and Tree Grab enjoying their time in the sun.

Anti-Mage
Anti-Mage could be seen a lot more in both your pub games and professional tournaments with his new kit, as Mana Break is buffed, along with his Base Movement Speed and Base Health Regeneration.

Although there were no exceedingly huge reworks to any heroes in Patch 7.41a, it definitely has had an effect. There are a lot more hero changes, and the full patch notes can be found here. With two days left of ESL One Birmingham 2026, Patch 7.41a could shake things up even more than its predecessor did a few days ago for the remaining teams.
