All rdy: Your weekly recap of March 23rd-29th

Nothing is ever stagnant or dull when it comes to the esports scene. Amidst the constant swirl of drama, tournaments, patches, and roster swaps, there’s always something unfolding behind the stage. From surprise upsets and standout performances to off-stage hiccups, each week brings a fresh mix of chaos and exctiment to our favorite (and often times most hated) games.

Counter-Strike 2

Tournaments

BLAST Open Spring 2026

Vitality cemented their legacy as the greatest team of all time by smashing the playoffs of BLAST Open Rotterdam to pieces and making everyone else look inadequate.

NAVI were the week's whipping boy, taking a loss in all three maps of the final, and frankly who can blame them. That they got 37 rounds in the final is becoming relatively impressive all things considered, and they've steadily improved to the point where they at least got a shot at the king; alas, they missed.

If Vitality now don't drop a map in Rio - and win the opening game of the Major flawlessly - they will hold the map win record for Counter-Strike's history. Spooky.

Dota 2

Tournaments

ESL One Birmingham 2026

ESL One Birmingham 2026 just crowned Tundra Esports, along with local hero Matthew “Ari” Walker, champions after taking down Team Yandex 3:1.

Along with the trophy, Tundra claims a massive 8000 ESL Pro Tour Points for their victory, which almost definitely secures the team a direct invite to the Esports World Cup 2026.

Teams and Players

Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp announced his retirement from professional Dota 2, closing the chapter on one of the most consistent captains of recent time. This happened on the heels of MOUZ's elimination from ESL One Birmingham 2026 and a string of disappointing results. There is no word on who will be his replacement heading into the final events leading to The International.

Patches and Updates

Nothing goes hand-in-hand with an ESL One Dota 2 event like a major patch, and 7.41 gave us exactly that just a few days ago as the Group Stage of Birmingham 2026 was drawing to a close. However, what’s better than one patch? Two patches, of course, as 7.41a has now dropped, with some big heroes which have been seen on the opening two days of the playoffs being nerfed.

ESL One Birmingham 2026 saw another patch drop during its duration, as 7.41a graced us with nerfs to many of the heroes we have seen recently.
